Tell Governor Brown: Fight Dark Money in Politics

More than $1 billion was spent on California campaigns in the last two election, much of it hiding behind misleading names. It’s corrupting our democracy, making it impossible for voters and small donors to be heard.

Right now, California has the chance to lead the nation in the fight to stop dark money from buying elections, and to restore balance to our democracy.

Senate Bill 1107 will remove California’s archaic ban on public finance campaigns, allowing all California cities, counties, and the state to explore voluntary public financing of campaigns.

Corporate and special interest groups have been deceiving voters and forcing politicians to spend huge amounts of time fundraising instead of doing their jobs. We must force them out and restore balance to our democracy.
