Demand an independent commission to find the truth about the Trump-Russia scandal
Former FBI Director Robert Mueller has been named as special prosecutor to take over the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation. It’s a victory for Courage Campaign members and hundreds of thousands of others who spoke out demanding a special prosecutor. But on its own, it’s not enough.
Mueller’s job is to investigate and prosecute crimes -- but some of the most important parts of the Trump-Russia story may not be clearly criminal, and a special prosecutor won’t bring those things to light. In order to get to the truth of what happened and how it affects our democracy, we also need an independent commission whose job is to uncover the full story and report it to the public.

"The appointment of a special prosecutor is a positive step towards accountability, but it is oriented only towards investigating and prosecuting criminal wrongdoing, not the full truth of the Trump campaign’s links to Russia and its attack on our election. We deserve to know what happened, and we need to know in order to safeguard our democracy.
