Improve the accountability and transparency of California's elections

In 2012, $256 million in "dark money" -- campaign contributions from undisclosed sources -- was spent to manipulate our democracy. There are four campaign finance reform bills in Sacramento that are desperately needed:

    • The California DISCLOSE Act (Senate Bill 52) requires the three largest funders of political ads to be clearly and legibly identified on the ads themselves.
    • The Sunshine in Campaigns Act
      • SB 2 requires candidates to stand by their ad, more disclosures on slate mailers, and increased fines for violations of campaign, lobbying, or ethics laws.
      • SB 3 requires an online disclosure system.
      • SB 27 closes the loophole that allows campaigns to collect millions from donors, or without having to disclose the sources.

Send an email to your State Senator saying "Please support the California DISCLOSE (SB 52) and Sunshine in Campaigns Acts (SB 2, 3, and 27). Californians have a right to know who is funding ads, campaigns and candidates."

(FYI, we require your full address so that we can correctly identify your Senator.)
