Tell Sprouts: Stop selling Nestlé’s bottled water
Sprouts Farmers Market (Sprouts) is one of the largest national grocery stores -- operating over 200 stores, many of them in California -- that cares about sustainability. So awesome! Oh wait, too bad it’s not fully true!
The sad reality is that Sprouts sells bottles of Nestlé’s Arrowhead Springs water -- the same water Nestlé pumps illegally from California's drought-stricken San Bernardino National Forest using a permit that expired over 25 years ago. Nestlé pays only $524 each year to profit off of this public land and illegally pumps as much as 25 MILLION GALLONS water a year. How can Sprouts call this practice green?!
JOIN Courage Campaign and Story of Stuff to tell Sprouts CEO Amin Maredia and Sustainability Director Susan Welsh:
“There's nothing sustainable about helping Nestlé profit off of illegally and irresponsibly sourced public water in drought-stricken California. Stop selling Nestlé’s Arrowhead Springs bottled water today.”
