Tell The Lincoln Club: No racist politics in San Diego!

Using racism as a campaign tactic is not only unfair, it is also unethical and dangerous. However, that didn’t stop The Lincoln Club -- a wealthy right-wing political group -- from launching a racist attack ad against mayoral Candidate David Alvarez just weeks before the special election to replace the Mayor of San Diego.

The Club’s photoshopped mailer depicts Candidate Alvarez -- a well-respected member of the community who would become the first Latino mayor of the city -- as a sinister and money-hungry gang member. Despite public complaints about their racist attack, the Lincoln Club is standing by it.

Their refusal to disavow and stop this despicable ad campaign is pure cowardice, plain and simple. Since the Lincoln Club won’t do it alone, we need people like you to have the courage to speak out against this attack and demand they do the same.

SIGN THE PETITION and tell The Lincoln Club:

“Your recent attack ad depicting Latino mayoral Candidate David Alvarez as a menacing gang member is unacceptable. I demand that you have the courage to end your racist ad campaign immediately and apologize to Candidate Alvarez and the public for your wrongdoing.”
