The growing influence of corporate money in Sacramento -- from wealthy donors to corporate backed independent expenditures and political action committees (PACs) --  is making it harder and harder for California to lead as a model for the nation.

Assemblymember O’Donnell is part of the problem. While accepting corporate contributions, he has a record of voting against the desires and best interests of his constituents.

In fact, Asm. O’Donnell’s voting record ranks him the TENTH least progressive Democrat in the Assembly, while his constituents vote far more progressively than he does.

He has received hefty campaign contributions from the oil industry, a relationship which may explain why he voted NO on two game-changing climate bills -- SB 32 and AB 356 -- in direct conflict with his constituents’ support for fighting climate change.

Asm. O’Donnell also did not support a bill that would have curbed an unjust, racist policy called Civil Asset Forfeiture (SB 443), and voted against a bill to curb racial profiling in policing (AB 953), among other legislation he opposed that would uphold the values of his constituents and the Democratic Party.

We must join together to hold him accountable.
