California mayors and local government officials: support our immigrant communities
Attorney General Jeff Sessions is suing California for shielding immigrant communities from the Trump administration’s terroristic immigration policies. And now a number of California cities are voting to attack our immigrant friends and neighbors by undermining the California Values Act.
The California Values Act was one of the most important laws passed in our state last year. It ensures that anyone, regardless of their immigration status, can use public services like schools and courthouses without being terrorized by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
That’s why we’re calling on California mayors and local government officials to explicitly support the California Values Act. Now more than ever is it imperative that our representatives stand up for immigrant communities under attack and set an example for the country.
Sign the petition and ask your mayor and local government officials to support the California Values Act now:
“Senate Bill 54 -- the California Values Act -- was a huge step in keeping undocumented families together and standing up for those who are being targeted by the Trump administration. But now, some cities are fighting back against the law and against protecting their neighbors. As your constituent, I ask that you stand strong for the California Values Act and not allow it to be toppled in our community.”
