Tell CA Legislators: Stop outrageous CEO pay!

Growing income inequality is the greatest threat to California’s economy, growth, and stability. And the biggest culprit of this problem is the outrageous gap in CEO-to-worker pay. In the past few decades, CEO compensation has skyrocketed to as much as 354 times more than their average worker, while workers’ wages have stagnated to some of the lowest levels in our nation’s history.

SB 1372 is an important first step to combat this growing disparity by creating a tax structure that rewards companies that have a reasonable CEO-to-worker pay ratio, while increasing taxes on companies with excessive wage gaps.

Pushing companies to put less money into the hands of their CEOs and more into the hands of average employees will create more buying power among people who will buy, and therefore more jobs. It will also decrease the amount of workers who rely on public assistance programs (i.e. less taxpayer dollars) and create more state revenue. It's a win-win for everyone.

Sign the petition to tell our state leaders:

“Support SB 1372 by Senators DeSaulnier and Hancock to help rebuild the middle class and ensure that ALL Californians share in the prosperity of our state, not just CEOs who take home outrageous salaries while paying their workers below subsistence wages.”
