    Stop the six-week abortion ban

Republicans in Congress are advancing a new bill that would ban abortion after only six weeks of pregnancy. In practice, that would essentially ban abortion entirely. Many women don't know they’re pregnant before six weeks. Between mandatory state waiting periods and the difficulty of getting appointments at overwhelmed clinics, this ban aims to make abortion illegal.

Republicans are just getting started with this bill. To pass it, they’ll need support from representatives who are vulnerable in next year’s elections. If enough of them hear from outraged voters, they’ll think twice before voting yes.

Sign the petition telling Republicans in Congress that they’ll pay a huge political price if they pass an abortion ban:

The so-called “Heartbeat Protection Act” is a cynical attempt to outlaw abortion altogether while calling it something else. The bill contains no exceptions for the health and safety of a pregnant woman or victims of rape and incest. By making it a crime to give an abortion to a woman after just 6 weeks of pregnancy, the bill will make abortion unavailable for countless women who do not even know they are pregnant yet, and others who have to navigate state waiting periods and overwhelmed clinics. Voters will not be fooled. Anyone who votes for this bill will pay a serious price at the polls next November.
