Tell Sacramento: Pass AB 52 and Stop Unregulated Health Insurance Rate Hikes

UPDATE: Though we weren't able to pass AB 52 through the California Legislature in 2011, we worked with our friends at Consumer Watchdog to put something very similar on the ballot in 2014. Sign up on this page to receive updates when the time comes.

Even though the Department of Managed Health Care has deemed a recent Anthem Blue Cross increase on 120,000 Californians "unreasonable," the state can't stop it. Assembly member Mike Feuer's (D-Los Angeles) bill, AB 52, actually gives the state the power to do approve, deny, or modify excessive rate changes.

Our state needs the authority to control rate hikes to protect families and small businesses. Plus, this bill prevents insurance companies from raising rates more than once a year.

Tell the legislature to support a real health insurance law. Sign our petition in support of AB 52 to give our state the power to approve or deny insurance rate hikes.
