UPDATE: As of February 2013, the Justice Department continues to raid legal dispensaries.

The Justice Department, led by Attorney General Eric Holder, has wasted millions of taxpayer dollars going after dispensaries that are in complete accordance with state law, while Wall Street bankers go free. On June 7th, he testified before Congress: "We limit our enforcement efforts to those individuals, organizations that are acting out of conformity with state law."
 
This flies in the face of his actions. In the last few weeks, federal agents have raided El Camino Wellness in Sacramento and initiated foreclosure proceedings against Harborside Health Center's two locations in Oakland, despite the fact that neither has broken a single state law. These respected dispensaries serve more than 127,000 patients, and their founders pioneered security, doctor verification, comprehensive wellness and cannabis testing services that are beginning to transform the distribution of medical marijuana -- by putting the patients’ needs first.
