Are companies like Chevron paying their fair share to California?

More than 80 firefighters from six Bay Area cities fought Chevron's refinery blaze for five hours before it was extinguished. Does Chevron pay enough state taxes to cover this huge public expense? 
 
According to the Legislative Analyst's Office, corporate profits are “booming” in California, but corporate tax collections are 6 percent below estimates. We need to learn how much our biggest corporations are paying California in taxes. How can we solve our budget problems if we're flying blind?
 
AB 2439 would require California's biggest, publicly-ownedcorporations to report how much they pay in state taxes and for that data to be put on a publicly searchable website. All of these corporations already report far more detailed information to the Securities and Exchange Commission.
 
Tell your state legislators: "Pass AB 2439 so California can make more transparent and informed decisions about our tax code."
