Congress must pass a clean, stand-alone DREAM Act
Courage Campaign blacked out our site today because Attorney General Jeff Sessions has cruelly announced that Donald Trump will end the DACA program, putting more than 800,000 young people, known as DREAMers, at risk of deportation.
We now have the chance to stop more than 800,000 deportations and pass a permanent DREAM Act through Congress. An overwhelming majority of Americans -- including Republicans -- favor preserving DACA and protecting DREAMers. Congresspeople from both sides of the aisle have come out in support of DREAMers.
But some Republicans have signaled that they will attempt to use support for the DREAM Act to win new “border security” measures -- like funding for Trump’s wall. If enough of the public speaks out, we can make sure that Republicans don’t attach other proposals to the bill.
Sign the petition telling members of Congress to introduce and pass a clean, stand-alone DREAM Act:
"The DREAM Act is a huge step in keeping undocumented families together by protecting the over 800,000 DREAMers who were brought here as children from deportation. As your constituent, I ask that you introduce and pass a clean DREAM Act that is not attached to any other proposals."
