    Block Trump's Supreme Court nominee!

The Senate is about to vote to confirm Neil Gorsuch, Donald Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court, and Democratic senators will have one simple job to do: JUST. SAY. NO.

Democratic senators must stand in the way of any nominee who would rubber-stamp Trump’s most un-American policies: religious tests, refugee bans, or permitting and encouraging discrimination against LGBTQ people and families.

Republican obstruction prevented President Obama’s nominee from even getting a fair hearing. Democratic senators must not reward right-wing obstruction by letting Trump’s nominee waltz onto the Supreme Court for a lifetime appointment.

Senator Jeff Merkley announced that he will filibuster Trump’s nomination, and he needs 39 more Democrats to commit to joining him for the filibuster to succeed. Now is the time for bold, brave political leadership. Sign the petition calling on Democratic senators to support the filibuster and commit to do everything in their power to block Trump’s Supreme Court nominee.

Below is the text of the statement that will be delivered to Democratic senators on your behalf:

    Dear Senator,

I urge you to support the filibuster effort, announced by Senator Jeff Merkeley, against Donald Trump's prospective Supreme Court nominee. The means by which the Republican party acquired this nomination -- the 293-day refusal to give Merrick Garland a fair committee hearing -- is an extraordinary abuse of the constitution and merits refusal to allow Trump's nominee to move forward.

Trump's recent executive orders have already proved that an independent judiciary will be essential to keeping him in check -- something we doubt is likely from a Trump appointment. With so much at stake -- women's reproductive health, LGBTQ rights, and more -- it is imperative that you do everything in your power to stop the nomination.

    Sincerely,

    [Your Name]
