Tell Governor Jerry Brown: Stop Corporate Agribusinesses from tapping out CA's precious water supply!

California's water budget is way out of whack.

While private homes and municipalities -- which account for less than 20% of California's annual water use -- are already cutting back their water use, corporate agribusinesses, which use 80% of California's water, are growing more and more water-intensive crops and guzzling down our State’s precious water supply.

This is not sustainable, and it’s not responsible.

It's taken centuries to build up California's groundwater reserves, and if we draw it down, we won’t be able to get it back

Join Moby, Courage Campaign, and Food & Water Watch to ask Governor Jerry Brown to realign California’s water rights, put limits on irrigating super-thirsty cash crops like almonds, beef, and alfalfa, and ensure our groundwater is not over-pumped and depleted.

SIGN THE PETITION to tell Governor Jerry Brown:
“California's broken water budget is allocating more water than our state could ever possibly supply. We ask that you work with the State Water Resources Control Board to manage our water responsibly: that means putting common sense restrictions on groundwater pumping, reining in corporate agribusiness, and balancing our water budget. We ask that you realign our water needs with our water supply and create a new water system that can serve the state for the next 100 years or more."
