Tell Sen. Steve Glazer: Stand up for the will of your constituents, not corporate interests

The growing influence of corporate money in Sacramento -- from wealthy donors to corporate backed independent expenditures and political action committees (PACs) --  is making it harder and harder for California to lead as a progressive model for the nation.

Sen. Glazer is part of the problem. While accepting corporate contributions, he has a record of voting against the desires and best interests of his constituents.

In fact, Sen. Glazer has the SECOND WORST voting record among Democrats in the Senate. His Courage Score comes in at 25, earning him a low “F”.

He won his seat with the help of MILLIONS of dollars from independent expenditures backed by conservative megadonor Bill Bloomfield, the California Real Estate industry, and other ultra-wealthy donors including Reed Hastings (CEO of Netflix) and Doris Fisher (co-founder of The Gap).

Sen. Glazer opposed a bill (AB 1351) that would promote drug rehabilitation instead of prison time for certain nonviolent, misdemeanor drug offenses, despite his constituents support to end the War on Drugs.

We must join together to hold him accountable.

SIGN THE PETITION TO TELL STATE SENATOR STEVE GLAZER:

“I am appalled at the excessive influence corporations and the wealthy have in the halls of our state Capitol. Their priorities and profits are consistently placed over the well-being of everyday Californians. Based on what I’ve seen on The People’s Report Card of California, I believe that you are part of the problem. I respectfully ask you to stand up to these moneyed interests and demonstrate courage by representing your constituents, as well as the values of the Democratic Party.”
