Demand Congress Fund Food Stamps for Needy Kids

As the economy continues to struggle, millions of needy families in the U.S. rely on food stamps to survive. Food stamps, a.k.a. the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), have already been cut earlier this year and House Republicans want nearly $40 billion in cuts next year!

In 2012, 65 million Americans used SNAP for at least 1 month -- that's 1 out of every 5 people! And three-quarters of all SNAP recipients come from households with children. Every $5 spent on SNAP generates up to $9 in economic activity, and every $1 billion spent generates 3,300 farm jobs!

SNAP is a crucial program not just for those who need the food assistance, but for the entire U.S. economy!

Tell your member of Congress: "Millions of American families depend on SNAP to survive, half of whom are children. We urge you not to make any more cuts to this vital program."
