California legislators: say NO to Trump’s Muslim registry in CA

The Trump Administration’s policies are tearing California’s families apart. From immigration raids to travel bans to the border wall to hate crimes, the fear is unmistakable -- and it’s just the beginning.

A Muslim registry would only continue this tirade of hateful politics by going against the fundamental values of our constitution. The implementation of a registry in the past resulted in zero terrorism convictions, leaving us no safer than when it started. Instead, this unethical policy disrupted thousands of people’s lives around the world. And what Trump is proposing is even worse. His registry would include ALL Muslims in the country, including legal permanent residents and citizens. We cannot allow this to happen.

The Religious Freedom Act (SB 31) -- which is currently moving through the California Senate -- will protect Californians from yet another registry based on religion, nationality, or ethnicity. This bill must be passed to protect our neighbors from this blatant discrimination.
