Tell the CPUC: Support a free and open internet!
The fate of Net Neutrality rests on California's shoulders.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is currently debating whether or not to stand with Americans and ensure equal access to the internet (i.e. “Net Neutrality”), or to side with corporate telecom providers who want to make the internet a “pay to play” system. And our state utility regulator, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), has a major vote coming up that will have a significant impact on the FCC’s ultimate decision on Net Neutrality for the nation.
The CPUC's decision could come down to one vote, and we need to be vigilant to ensure that there are no back room negotiations going on between the CPUC and major telecom corporations -- who oppose Net Neutrality. So Californians need to come together right now to help secure the CPUC’s support and stop a corporate takeover of the internet.
Join us to tell the CPUC board:
"All Americans should have equal access to the internet! Please support Title II reclassification of broadband as a common carrier service under the Telecommunications Act -- real Net Neutrality -- and ask the FCC to do the same."
