Stop corporate lobbyists from underfunding our schools
The kids of Los Angeles need your help.
Earlier this year, the teachers of the Los Angeles Unified School District went on strike to get a better deal for their students. The district, its workers, and other stakeholders came together and acknowledged that the decades-long funding crisis in our public schools must be addressed. That’s why on the June 4 ballot, Measure EE will ask corporations to pay a little more in taxes to lower class sizes and attract and retain quality teachers, counselors, school nurses, librarians, support staff and principals.
Despite record profits and record tax breaks from the Trump Administration, corporate lobbyists opposing Measure EE in order to keep hoarding their own profits. And to hurt our kids, the Los Angeles County Business Federation, also known as, “BizFed,” really hired an expert. They hired one of Big Tobacco’s top lobbyists to run their campaign against funding our classrooms.
We need your help to stop BizFed’s slimy campaign against our children and our classrooms. Sign the petition that states:
"We demand that the Los Angeles County Business Federation abandon its campaign against Measure EE on the June 4 special election ballot. It is shameful that BizFed has hired a Big Tobacco lobbyist to run its campaign to keep the children of the Los Angeles Unified School District from getting the education they deserve and to keep our schools from getting the resources they need to support teachers, nurses, counselors, and support staff. We believe that the stakes for our communities are too high to let corporate greed prevail over the needs of our kids, our teachers, and our schools."
