Colin Kaepernick responds to death threats, discusses Terence Crutcher shooting

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick met with reporters on Tuesday afternoon and addressed the death threats that he has received, according to Tyler Dunne of Bleacher Report.

“If something like that were to happen, you've proved my point,” Kaepernick said. “It'll be loud and clear why it happened.”

Kaepernick started his national anthem demonstration during the preseason, first sitting and later kneeling during the song to protest racial inequality and injustice taking place in America, including police violence. Several other NFL players have joined his protest.

Kaepernick also discussed the shooting of Terence Crutcher by police in Tulsa, Okla. 

“They shot and killed a man and walked around like it wasn't a human being,” Kaepernick said.

Kaepernick also plans to donate $1 million to local community organizations, telling reporters that he will donate $100,000 each month for the next 10 months. He said he plans to set up a website in order for people to monitor where the money is distributed.
