Call your Assemblymember and ask them to save net neutrality

Last week, the federal government officially stopped protecting net neutrality. Thankfully, there are two bills in California's Assembly that will protect net neutrality in the state (and help protect it across the country by setting a powerful precedent). California's Senate passed SB 822 last month -- the state's "gold standard" net neutrality bill -- and now it's starting to move through the Assembly. Another bill, SB 460, would require state agencies not to contract with Internet providers that violate net neutrality. But companies like AT&T and Comcast are flooding Sacramento with lobbyists and doing everything they can to stop these bills.

A key committee in the Assembly will vote on the bills this week. We can be sure that members of that committee are hearing from telecom lobbyists -- we need to make sure they hear loud and clear from everyday people about why net neutrality is so important to us.

Will you call your Assemblymember and ask them to protect net neutrality?

Below is a script you can use for the call. Once you've called, please take a moment to let us know how it went.
